PhD Studentship - EPSRC SME Industrial Case Award

An EPSRC SME Industrial Case Award has been secured by the University of Glamorgan in partnership with Rumm Ltd.. This topical and hugely relevant project provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to employ their mathematical skills to research and develop analytical tools to radically reduce the energy consumption in many organisations.

An EPSRC SME Industrial Case Award has been secured by the University of Glamorgan in partnership with Rumm Ltd.. This topical and hugely relevant project provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to employ their mathematical skills to research and develop analytical tools to radically reduce the energy consumption in many organisations.

Person Specification

Eligible students will have obtained an excellent first degree (2:1) or higher in Statistics, Mathematics or related field. Candidates are expected to be computer literate and would ideally have experience in at least one leading statistical software package such as ‘R', SPSS or S-Plus. Candidates are particularly encouraged to apply if they have experience in some of the following topics: statistical inference, statistical process control, time series analysis, Quality Management systems.

Value of the Award and Eligibility

Due to funding criteria, this studentship is open to UK and EU students only. A UK student would receive an award covering fees and an annual bursary circa £14,000 over a 3 year period.
